You probably think that making your own Civil War Uniform hat for almost nothing is impossible.
But you're wrong. It is very possible. And easy.
1. the frequent flea markets, flea markets, antique shops, garage sales and looking for a hat. They are excellent places to find a hat that someone wants to get rid of – and for a discount! I found a soft hat shop incredible savings for our local church for about 25 cents.
2. If it is considered good, rain, and scrub with a brush for your hair to achieve the desired shape.
3. Stuff with old towels to reach a neutral way.
4. Let stand for a day or two and take the towel and decide what kind of shape you want to do.
5. See the original photos and decide which hat you want to duplicate.
6. Put a band on it or a hatband. You may have to remove the tape and put a modern group in the act of a natural material like silk – and not synthetic.
7. If not muted in some kind of tape you can put on it, but not necessary. Keep an eye on the real tape for use on your old hat. Home sewing baskets in stores antiques.
8. To find out if he is old, Take a few strands of ribbon and make a match. If not ball and burns clean, is likely to be a natural material. If bullets and smoke, is likely to be a synthetic material.
9. Keep the tapes in one color – black, brown, gray – all kinds of stripes.
10.You can put a strip of contrasting color in the hat
11. Mix and use the same color as the hat band.
12. The feathers can be added but not my style.
13. Personally, I have all the doo dads – the clear and generic look is the most authentic.
14. colors would be good black, brown and gray.
15.Your best bet is to look at original photos and to train the eye for a hat that can double your impression of the uniform of War Civil.
